The existing building doesn't seem to be very well suited to becoming a proper community hub, as was proposed in the original WeyBetterWeybridge concept.

This looks like an achievable way on retaining and enhancing library facilities in Weybridge, and greatly enhancing community facilities. The addition of a terrace on top of the single storey extension would be a great way to enhance community facilities further. If combined with a community cafe, this would greatly help increase the library's attraction as a local destination.

What is essential is a fully functioning Community Hub not just an updated Library with hot desking work space and one that directly joins to the green space of Churchfields Recreation Ground so that amenities inside and outside space work together. I would not use this site if it is built as suggested. This is the view of the very many local people I've spoken to establishing a vision for Weybridge. For the last 6 year residents have been promised a purpose built community space that brings all ages and backgrounds of people together. The suggested plans do not achieve this regardless of improving the look of the space. This would be a waste of our money and prevent Weybridge delivering it vision to regenerate and revitalise the tired looking town. It would not attract greater use or the breadth and type businesses and shops we need for it to flourish. PLEASE reconsider this plan even if it means waiting longer for the required funds to be available. The Weybridge Society wants to help with greater innovation on this absolutely key site so that it can deliver the fantastic opportunity it offers to transform Weybridge.

It will be wonderful to have such a fabulous library to visit. I’ve been visiting the existing one since I was 7 years’ old (over 50 years!) and as much as I will miss all the memories it will a very welcome change
